@kllybdk: Ep.10 → Shibuya Punk. Also referred to as Grind Fiction or Animemo, this aesthetic first took shape on GrindWorld forums. It blends skating, grunge, hip hop, techno, and anime - all wrapped in that bold cel-shaded art style we recognize from Jet Set Radio, The World Ends With You, and Persona :3 I say this about every art style but this is GENUINELY one of my favorite art styles. This was my take on Shibuya Punk/Grind Fiction - obviously heavily influenced by Persona 5. Which aesthetic should I do next?

This style is my all time favorite art style/form. It’s heavily inspired by black culture specifically early east coast hip pop and graffiti culture which is why it probably feels like home to me. ❤

Common misconception (fun fact) - cell shading has nothing to do with outlines. Cell shading refers specifically to how the shading on the character looks. Outlines in these games are done using something called the “inverted hull” method

There’s a video by Mayorski and Internet Pitstop that talks about this and showed many styles of Grind Fiction and revealed many game I never realized it was considered this genre

I like that they've got their own fun little classification but I feel like people need to experiment within that space more
