@roxannakemppainen: I always have high hopes when I come to see Pat. Hopes that he's awake first off. Hopes that he looks content and pain-free. Hopes that he seems happy to see me. Hopes that I can hold myself together. On a larger scale I dream of small, and even large miracles! That he'll be so happy to see me he reaches out with his arms to hold me. That he rises up to give me a big Pat hug, picking me up off my feet! That he will say I LOVE YOU ROXANNA!! That he is healed by God himself and completely renewed and restored! Big dreams, I know...I don't dare dream those in any real sense, I keep them safely tucked way back in my little brain, because while I do believe in miracles, this disease has proved that noone ever has been healed of it...It's too painful to dream in the world of Dementia...it has destroyed many...I do believe however that Pat loves me, and would certainly do all those things and more, if he could! And someday he will and we will have our happily ever after! Thats the faith that keeps me going.
