@deltatrendtrading: Many people who aren’t familiar with quantitative finance, or trading more generally, conflate the idea of decision making under uncertainty with pure games of chance / true gambling. I think the intuitive and important distinction to make is that when you gamble, the decisions you make cannot create an edge; there’s no optimal pick in roulette. However, in trading, although it’s impossible to eliminate randomness, and you still make decisions with uncertain outcomes, it is possible to gain an edge by making optimal decisions. #quanttrading #quantfinance #quantitativefinance #quant #trading
