@katerina.haros: Welcome to a Sunday morning in my life with a 13 week old golden retriever puppy! Sharing life saver advice for getting through this crazy puppy phase from trainer @taylorcezanne! Otis is definitely still crazy and a little shark when he’s awake, but he is so much better than before since now being on this routine. #newpuppy #newpuppyvlog #goldenretriever #goldenretrieverpuppy #puppytraining
The second a puppy starts getting overly mouthy and you can’t distract with a toy, it’s time for a nap. They’re like overtired toddlers

the first few weeks with my golden were brutal and enforcing naps helped me not lose my mind! he's now 6 months and he's so calm and nice to have around lol

Taylor’s puppy tips were a game changer for me as well! That schedule was such a blessing! And they learn the schedule too and eventually start to settle when they have been up for 60-90 mins. My puppy is now 6 months old and after playing for hour will plonk himself in his bed on the couch and start to snooze hehe.

How long did it take before your puppy could take a 3-4 hour nap without accidents?

My puppy does great getting in the crate for bed and sleeping through the night. He’s 11 weeks old but if I try to put him in the crate for a nap he just whines… I’m guessing just let him cry it out? :/ I feed him meals in there, enrichment and treats all in the crate. He still doesn’t like it except for bed. Any advice? I also have neighbors and already feel like they hate us so crying out doesn’t feel like an option. Tried lots of tricks for crate training and it doesn’t change anything about nap cry’s 😩

Did you wait for your puppy to wake up in the kennel and then take her out or did you actually wake your puppy up?

I am currently trying to set a routine with my 10 week old golden. She will only nap for about 45 mins. Did Otis start out sleeping long amounts of time or did he gradually start taking longer naps?

I feel bad leaving my 7 month old pup in the kennel for 3 hours when I’m gone. I’m gonna tell him some doggies don’t get cuddles in bed at bedtime 😅

I do the exact same! If I don’t enforce naps she will honestly stay up for 4-5 hours until she crashes out for half an hour to do it all again but she will happily nap for 3 hours in the crate if I enforce it!

Did you put Otis in the crate and let him cry it out? I’ve been trying it but let my girl out when she starts crying…not sure what’s best

It’s terrible to play after eating. Especially for a golden. Please look up bloat. It’s incredibly common and very dangerous. Please post something recanting this
