So just a question I know the track system is crazy pricey. But would it be worth it to switch to tracks?

We have had multiple 8230, 8240 and 8250s over the years. All below 2000 hours. Have never cracked wheels however the 30s and 40s we had our fair share of wheel studs snapping off. Good luck with the 50s so far.

They been using the same rims for like 20 years. Making machines go faster, bigger tanks, bigger heads, and like you said hills and bumps. Time for CNH to go away from Titan, it was time for an upgrade a long time ago.

Just curious if wheel bolt torque is checked regularly during season? CNH rep said he believes it helps but not sure I’m convinced, think the thicker steel is the way to go

roading with 40ft headers on is a big one. high crown road put lots of pressure on the inside, or maintainer ridges on the outside are especially bad. Thing there is a plate kits that helps, but the design has changed a few time over the years so you might already have it on.

Badwolf :
All duals crack rims. Main reason, too much leverage on the wheels. On Deeres it helps take out final drive bearings. Run lower pressure on the outside duals compaired to the inside and won’t have any issues

We have three 8250. Cracked 4 rims last year. There is a place in Minnesota that welds in heavier bolt plate. We started using them and have had no cracks since.

I use to break wheels all the time on my 8230.. the only solution I’ve seen is the flat faced wheels with spacers, look like band duals or what the Gleaners run. No broken wheel yet, and they are 710s so maybe bigger tires help

A few guys here have wheel cracks on the deeres too. Frankly I’m sure they are all the same rims made by titan if I recall. But quite a few S680’s I know of with wheel issues around this Coronach area.

jjsauer3 :
Every time we crack a wheel on our 8230’s (3000+ sep hours) we change all the wheel bolts out. The bolts stretch and allow play, which causes the cracks

2017 Case 8240 with just over 2000hrs with a 40ft fd2, and we are relatively flat land, we had a set of rims crack and break out. I think it’s just the luck of the draw for who’s rims crack

I think that most of the problems are caused by how you turn on the headlands. Also mark the bolts to see if they move
