@leaderofthepacklv: Crate training isn’t “cruel.” It’s smart. It keeps your dog safe, builds structure, and teaches them how to actually relax. If your dog ever needs to be boarded, go to the vet, fly in a plane or, God forbid, is rescued in a natural disaster… they’ll need to be crated. A crate-trained dog handles all of that calmly because it’s routine. People who are against crate training usually confuse neglect with structure. The crate isn’t a punishment, it’s protection. It’s not a band-aid, it’s a foundation. The crate is a tool that builds calm, confidence, and structure when used the right way. What’s actually unfair is sending your dog into the world unprepared for real life. #CrateTraining #DogTrainingTips #SafetyFirstForDogs #RealWorldDogSkills #BalancedDogTraining Is crate training good or bad? 👇🏽

It makes me feel so much better hearing your input on crate training. We keep our Dog in the crate specially at night time. It’s been great because she learned it so fast. She was potty trained quickly. She was spayed last week and they recommended to keep her in her crate to protect her. I don’t feel guilty anymore.

Dogs die all the time when they should of been crated. Even the surgery for intestional block is pricy and lots of folks can't afford it.

I leave the house to run errands every day so after play and breakfast for 4 or 5 hours it's kennel time. "Carrot and kennel" is all I have to say and she zoooooooms into her kennel and waits for her carrot stick lol 😆 She also sleeps in it at night (open door) not on the bed. So easy! Her place for a little r&r.

You never know you need crate training, until you need it. My first girl, Lexi, was never crated. Then she got sick and needed treatment in a crate. She panicked to the point hurting herself. That led to her needing to be sedated.

Crate training done right is very good and humane for the dog. Cool story about crate training. I have two dachshunds and crate training was the only way they became fully house broken. Crates help dogs feel safe and calm. Also, when they had to stay at the vet hospital, the vet tech told me they can tell when a dog is crate trained or not. The crate trained dogs are calmer and the dogs who were not were stressed and howling/barking the entire time.

Yeah except crates WERE NEVER intended for 8 hour days. 6 hours max. So if you have a dog no going out straight from work- not until you walk them first!

Crate training also helps durinf6 fires. It's a lot easier to find an animal if it's supposed to be in one place than one. That's hiding under a bed or in a closet

Im glad I live in Sweden where crating our dog is illegal,we can use crates if the door is taken off so the can leave it.I personally had my own dogs for 25 years Border Collie/German Sheperdmix and a Rottwriler/German Sheperdmix (unnuterd) and they never got into trouble or bit anything they wasnt supposed to.When they were alive i would go home on my break and walk them. I dont understand why people in US seems to have so much problem whit their dogs,so they have to put them in prison every time they leave their home. My beliving in having any animals, its a privelidge and not a f****ing right,if you can't give your animals the best life they can have, then dont get one - at all !!!
