I was never as close to my dad as he was never really home growing up. When he lost his job he was home during covid and he tried harder to get closer with me. He would take me to school and work and that was the only time we were able to talk and I've learned a few things from him that i will keep in mind. He was never the best but he tried and i saw. He passed away last Christmas day and after looking through some of his things(there are still anlot to look through) i realized that i was the highlight of his life and i miss him so much i wait for him at my door for him to ask whats for dinner. I never told him how much i loved and appreciated him and i will carry that guilt for the rest of my life. Im only 19 and im grateful he got to see me graduate high school and turn 18 but it wasn't enough time i still have so much to tell him and i still wait for him to
