They didn’t offer free tickets for the school age children initially however, I believe now they are offering free tickets for children over the weekend. It has always been overpriced especially for the favorite foods.

Doubt it. Go to a concert with any medium to big artist and it's sold out with $200 plus tickets, $20 beer and $50 tshirts. People have money for what they wanna have money for, then they complain when they can't pay rent. As for state fairs, they are old news, something hanging on from the 50s or before. All in all people just aren't really interested in stuff like that anymor. Interest change.

The area around Big Tex is usually packed for two reasons… Big Tex and the lines at Fletchers. If the economy impacted the fair, they had ways to offset that. They could have made the parking cheaper or stuck with the student vouchers for the kids. They need to accept THEIR part (small or big) for the shortcomings.,

I went when I was a kid but not as an adult; besides the normal heat at this time I’m not interested in the constant increases in the prices as it puts a damper on the experience.
