child services will do anything but protect children that are actually in need, I've seen them come after people who are loving and affectionate and provide for their children and I've seen them ignore straight abuse and neglect

This is horrendous. That poor baby was failed by everyone. Everyone who decided he should stay with his mother, should be charged too. They knew damn well what was happening and didn’t want to deal with it.
