Osteoporosis, calcium was 10.5, PTH 40, ionized 5.5. 17 days later calcium dropped 8.6, PTH 101.5 and Vitamin D jumped from low 20’s to 34. Strange to me! Have had a L1 compression with Kypoplasty.

I have diabetes, too high active vitamin d, high PTH, normal calcium and vitamin d and was told that I needed more calcium because of the high PTH. Feeling miserable and last week I quit taking 1500 calcium. What to do now?

Low vitamin D, high calcium, and got bloodwork for PTH back today… 128 👀👀 Haven’t heard back from doctor yet but saw the test result in MyChart. Is it safe to assume I’m looking at surgery?

After parathyroid surgery are you supposed to supplement with any vitamins? Are we at greater risk of osteoporosis

Could a regular thyroid ultrasound label a parathyroid adenoma as a thyroid nodule instead by mistake?

hello, can your parathyroid still need to be removed if it's causing horrible symptoms and abnormal PTH but have normal calcium?

I’ve seen 4 endocrinologists and they keep insisting I only have hyperparathyroidism cuz my vitamin D is very low. Well, I take 10,000 IU daily and get sunshine and nothing is changing it. Your opinion please 🙏🏻

No one can answer this for me….low Vitamin D, but when I try to take more I end up with severe body muscle cramps. If I take calcium more than twice a week I end up with high anxiety, tremors and puffy face. Along with Hashimoto’s. I also take magnesium. Never feel well. I’m always dismissed.

Hi Dr. Russell. Thanks for sharing!! I just had this conversation with my doctor. Of course the thought of surgery is dismal but come what may. This video really helped!
