@easyonthesugar: making toffee without a candy thermometer is actually pretty simple because you don’t have to worry about it burning like with caramel or butterscotch. be sure to whisk continuously though. 😊 INGREDIENTS - 1 stick of butter (use American butter if you can! I didn’t have any and used European butter and as you can see I had to add 1-2 tablespoons of water to make my toffee come back together.) - 1 cup (200g) of light brown sugar OR can use half granulated half brown - 1 tsp of salt to garnish after transferring to tray Toffee will be extremely hot! a good tip to check if it’s done is to have a small bowl of ice water on hand while boiling. drop some toffee in, give it a few seconds, and if it hardens it’s done. if it’s still sticky and chewy you need to cook it more
