I truly believe that desiring marriage is a sign of low self-esteem/worth & wanting validation. If you meet someone you really connect with, then I can understand how the desire to marry them may develop. But just desiring marriage alone, that’s always been odd to me.

But all the women, all the young women, have this warped idea that they will be the exception to the rule. That when they get married to their Prince charming, it would be the perfect marriage with the perfect children, with no stress because they are the exception to the rule. So nothing you say will derail any of the young women from aspiring to marriage and family life because everyone is delusional that they will be the exception.

Never married, never wanted kids. 51. Child free. Man free. I’ve carved out a wonderful life for myself. My hat off to all the mamas and wives. I just cannot imagine that family living being my life. I live auntying, daughtering, sistering and friending but mommying and wifing….absolutely never!

My mom told me very similar advice before she passed, she loved us kids ,but she told me it was extremely hard...she also told it was completely fine to not want to be married or have kids. That convo always stuck with me, I'm 32 no kids /not married
