somehow none of this has caused my dad to have a narcissistic collapse.. he’s been fired from dozens of jobs, switched career paths a bunch, gone broke, lost his family, lost all his “friends” all due to his abusive behaviour but he just keeps finding new supply. he finds a new gf, new job, new friends to manipulate.

Their remorse is fake, it’s manipulation. They’ll never tell the truth to their therapist, they’ll learn to weaponize therapy words, and their therapist will become another enabler, and the narcissist only gets WORSE.

The thing is my abuser used to apologise and take accountability/promised he’d go to rehab only after the assaults. Once I finally pressed charges, he no longer was that remorseful person. It’s all an act.

a narcissist collapse is temporary, for most its no longer than 1-3 days. once the narcissist collapse fades they will no longer see their faults.

This happened with my ex. We had to live together after we broke up for a couple of months. He was so respectful and polite, but I knew he was only concerned maintaining his delusion of being a “good man”. This also showed me he was capable of kindness all along and his abuse was deliberate.

They’re horrible in every aspect, but that’s the worst thing about them - most of them are simply incapable of self-reflection or change. You can’t trust them when they come back and apologize, they just want to hoover you into another cycle. Once you go no contact, you have to literally maintain it for life.😅
