Security 🔐⚛️ @inter_link continues to research and test advanced cryptographic mechanisms designed to prepare blockchain infrastructure for the post-quantum era. One key area of exploration is ML-DSA-65, standardized under FIPS 204 by NIST, and its potential integration across different layers of the InterLink blockchain. The research includes applications for both validator consensus keys and user account keys, recognizing that quantum-resistant security requires more than simply replacing an existing signature algorithm. InterLink is also experimenting with validator consensus key rotation, enabling cryptographic keys to be updated over time while supporting both staking and PoA environments, including genesis import and export compatibility. Beyond cryptography, ongoing infrastructure experiments include configurable Block-STM parallel execution and pre-state caching, with the goal of improving transaction execution and state-processing efficiency.
