majority of philosophers do believe in moral realism. And the majority of philosophers who specialize in religion tend to be religious themselves

Wait, I thought PhilPaper’s survey was the authoritative source for the opinions of modern philosophers. In that survey, accept compatibilism and lean toward compatibilism make up 57.5% of the overall opinion, with accept no free will and lean toward no free will only making up 12.2%. Moral realism (accept and lean toward) makes up 60.6% of the overall opinion and moral anti-realism (accept and lean toward) only makes up 28.2%. Is there a post-2020 survey that has updated numbers and better a survey population?

moral realism is actually most popular position among philosophers in last surveys over last decade. although i might recommend Thomas Nagel's "View from Nowhere", among other things,he has very well-written chapter about Life, Meaning and Death

im contempt in my atheistic world veiw. everything is wonderful and beautiful there isnt any inherit meaning to existence. we are simply here and I cant believe neither about any god. and if there is one its a unfathomable nihilistic thing that didn't have humans in mind.

Tbh, I think only people or institutions with a Eurocentric idea of philosophy and who constitutes a philosopher will come to the conclusion that most of them were/are atheistic. That is definitely a true statement about Western philosophers, but not so much about philosophers from the rest of the world.🗺
