@bradbernsteinlaw: Why Your Groceries Keep Getting More Expensive and What Does Immigration Have to Do With It? The U.S. Labor Department just issued an emergency warning to Congress: food prices are climbing 2–4% every month and it’s not just inflation. Deportations, farm raids, and visa restrictions are destroying America’s food supply. Farmers can’t find workers to harvest crops, and the result is simple: less food, higher prices, and empty shelves. These aren’t political opinions they’re straight from the government’s own report. We can’t run a food system without immigrant labor. Without reform, we’ll be paying $5 for an apple and wondering why there’s nothing left to eat. I’ve said it before immigration policy isn’t just about borders. It’s about what ends up on your dinner table. #lawtok #FoodPrices #LaborShortage #Farmworkers #breakingnews ⸻ 🧠 Overlay Text Suggestions (for editor) • 0:00–0:03: “Food prices rising 2–4% every month 📈” • 0:05–0:10: “Labor Dept warns Congress: Deportations = Food shortage” • 0:15–0:20: “4 in 10 U.S. farmworkers are undocumented” • 0:25–0:30: “Less labor = fewer crops = higher prices” • 0:40–0:45: “$5 apples? The plan is the hike food prices then when things return to normal, the prices will be on a new high level that people have to live with because prices will never go down no matter how good things get they can only tend upward

It’s at the tipping point too, since certain fruits aren’t just expensive but already moldy by the time you buy it, so even if you can afford to it’s not worth it unless it’s already processed, like canned.

So our entire system id based on essentially taking advantage of vulnerable populations and artificially keeping prices down. Much like our dependence on cheap foreign goods, it does seen like its a dangerous bind to put yourself in and would contribute mightily to keeping wages down. Because its price fixing to a degree
