Oh that’s an interesting take. I took it as a way to signal if the person is left leaning or right leaning

This makes so much sense. I was also very confused about Sparkle Megan claiming she liked traditional gender roles

Interesting take! I also think a lot of rich people want to cosplay traditional gender roles while actually playing traditional race and class roles. The women aren’t cleaning the kitchen and the men aren’t mowing the lawn, they have hired help for that. But they pretend that hiring other people is the same as doing their assigned gender labor “as good intended” because it feeds their ideology

I thought they were just trying to signal that they were republicans and that they wanted to be or wanted to have a stay at home mother and house manager/maid/nurse/cook/etc

YES it’s this romanticizing of a “soft” lifestyle women are supposed to be living and the soft life is a woman who is polite, dainty (incl physically!) and agreeable

I also feel like they are conservative, signaling trying to find other conservatives that are there that believe in what they believe in without actually having to say that they are conservative or republican because they’re embarrassed, which, in my opinion, they should be

My theory on sparkle Megan is also that she just wants to make it clear I’m not going to be your sugar mama. When in reality for the right person she was willing to put more $$ in to not sacrifice her standard of living

I like the thesis, but in the end, I think this language is more about religion and politics, and not physical expectations. They’re signaling they are conservative Christians. Especially from Anton’s perspective. Men just don’t play that kind of 3-dimensional chess. He’s just saying, “I am man, I provide, God say so. You must submit because I am man.”

I think it goes one level deeper. Attractive people (both men and women) have the most options and get the best people (financially and physically), so they can be more protected from external things like politics or laws. Attractive people who respect themselves and choose well don’t need to fight to get special treatment because they will get it regardless of what the laws are. For them, it’s a single-player game on a completely different playing field outside of the framework you are talking about. Normal rules won’t apply to them so they play differently

Femininity isn’t just natural beauty. It’s how much EFFORT a person puts into appealing to the masculine gaze. Example: drag queens are the most feminine people alive. They want pretty that also pleases men in general (i.e. heels)

I was OBSESSED with love is blind, I even made it through a couple rounds of casting a few years ago. I had to stop watching it because I realized how hard they were pushing the traditional gender role white picket fence narrative (among others that I couldn’t get on board with)

in my perspective/opinion - i think she mean shes successful and ofc she worked hard for her money, so she wants a man who can “provide” aka she be able to work for “fun money/for her” and not to “survive.” which i personally want that too as a women who also has her own. i PERSONALLY couldnt find a man attractive if he didnt want to make my life easier. when youre a woman who works hard and provided a nice life for yourself - if a man cant of doesnt want to make your life easier - then thats a turn off.
