@melrobbins: The U.S. makes up less than 5% of the world’s population… but consumes 90% of the world’s pain medication 🤯 I was shocked when Dr. Sanjay Gupta, world-renowned neurosurgeon and @CNN’s Chief Medical Correspondent, revealed this staggering fact. That tells you everything you need to know about our relationship with pain. According to Dr. Gupta, that mindset is keeping us from healing the root cause. This episode of The Mel Robbins Podcast will completely change how you think about pain, your body, and your power to heal. This episode is out now!🎧 “Feel Better Now: Neurosurgeon Reveals the New Science of Healing Your Body & Stopping Pain Today.” #melrobbins #melrobbinspodcast #painmedication #chronicpain

agree with so many comments here but adding its a bandaid so we can get back to working ourselves to death. healing takings time and a safety net, but we live paycheck to paycheck to survive

Because no one else is eating the food we eat. We have pain because of our diets. Period.

90% of pain medication consumed in the US, and a the only developed country without socialised healthcare. Big pharmaceutical companies only have the US population to fleece unfortunately. The guardrails everywhere is else are up.

I disagree!!! My family lives in Europe and they struggle to find doctors thus the lack of procedures. My sister is suffering because of hip pain but their process is so slow! He is not giving the full picture

If this is true, it doesn’t necessarily mean that that population don’t like pain. In a capitalistic society, the most capitalistic ever, the chances that some industries and some particular products gained so much relevance at some specific point it means that the capitalistic system works perfectly well. Those products probably won’t the race against other products and somehow that industry set up their business model in such way that is tightly coupled to the system
