I do feel like Dave should've gotten a full refund since he had to start all over again, but outside of this, I think everything was handled well (considering the circumstances) and I agree that OP shouldn't beat himself up

"why was he reported?" he HAS to be. any conflict HAS to be reported because if it's dug up by opposing counsel it can hurt the case. now no one can use it against him, his firm, or his clients. it's been dealt with.

If this is true I don’t understand how this was his fault? He did not continue to represent Dave and told him the day Sara and her attorney came that he needed to withdraw gave his money back and did the course that was mandatory how is he at fault??
