Growing up in the 90s, there was a lot of emphasis on standing out, being different. Now it’s opposite. It’s definitely correlated with extreme over consumption and hopelessness

My Roman Empire is that in 6th grade my teacher taught us that skirts get longer the worse the economy gets. I remember seeing skirts getting longer the closer we got to the 2006 crash and remember thinking a recession must be coming. When I saw milkmaid dresses trending a few years ago I knew conservativism was on the rise. It really is that serious and you can 100% predict and gauge cultural shifts based on fashion trends.

I used to teach college freshman and there would be adorable girls every semester that would come in and raise their hand and want to discuss the topics… & then as the semester went on, they all got quieter and mousier, and they wouldn't participate. Something was happening there socially, and I hated it.

I agree but as an astrologer of decades I can say that we are on the precipice of incredible non conformity and individualism. At some point we will have nothing left to lose and art will flourish in a new subversive way again. We will see subcultures raining again
