The only thing I will say... if im playing the card game and someone calls my favorite Gundam "Barbados" instead of Barbatos... it just hurts but other than that we all fam.

I’ve been collecting kits since I was 8 after watching Wing. My wife last year just wanted to build a HG Z’gok cause she thought it was cute. Now she has the Z’gok, 3 Zakus, 2 Goufs, a DOM and 4 SDs. She has zero interest in watching the anime, just wants to join in on my hobby. Enjoy your time dude, this hobby has a place for everyone except gatekeepers 👍🏻

yeah, you don't need to watch the show you enjoy giant badges robots. I enjoy the anime and Manga, and have a backlog a mile long, but that's my journey.

I see fans all the time that have a favorite gundam or have only seen one show. like dude, if I can build them at 5 and 6 or get back into them 30 years later. people can enjoy just building them!

thats 100% gatekeeping and we don't do that in our community. Im 40+ and have been watching and building gunpla and going to comps and won some. No, this is wrong, if you need help with what to watch, tips and tricks on Gunpla, airbrush, painting, washing, custom, whatever please hit me up. thats no good, im sorry that happened.

@Murklurker doesn’t seem to realize that a lot of builders don’t even watch Gundam, they build the model kits. I build Zoids but don’t watch the show.

I was originally an armored core fan and knew NOTHING about gundam before buying my first kit. Most of the time, Gundam brings people to gunpla, but people forget that theres plenty of times where Gunpla brings people to Gundam. Like me. Hobbies are for enjoyment. You don't need to know the Lore and systems of the Unicorn Gundam if you wanna build an MGEX.

gatekeepers can piss off, if you start with gunpla first and then watch anime, that's great! I got into anime because of Gundam Wing in 2000, I didn't bother with Universal Century until GQuuuuuux came out! 😂

People that make comments like that weaken the community. I've been watching Gundam since the 90s and it makes me happy to see people enjoy the hobby. Forget the GKs! Have fun and don't be afraid to ask about anything MSG.

Either go to your local hobby shop or online store, take a look and buy whatever you think looks cool and have fun. Also grab a pair of side cutters, you'll need 'em.
