I’m a revert and I feel like white privilege is taken away when you become Muslim, especially wearing a hijab. I really don’t feel I have ‘white privilege’ anymore because people don’t look at me and say oh she’s white she’s okay, people look at me as Muslim and if there racist then I’m just on the same level as someone of a different ethnicity

im a white british revert of a year and no matter how much i explain to my parents about what islam actually is they just say im seeing everything through rose coloured glasses or that 'im a good one most muslims arent like that'

lol just to clarify for everyone who thinks I don’t know what racism is - I use the word racism here as for many people who are ‘against’ Islam are actually only against it because it’s predominantly a religion of people of colour. This is not the case for all people against Islam but it is the case for many!

im ngl as someone who has v fair skin and has a white, english mother, my experience growing up in comparison to some of my friends has been marginly different in terms of islamaphobia. People r more colourist than islamaphobic i would say 🤷‍♀
