i weld blocks all the time with hi nickel rod with 💯 success rate to date having never tried this technique but seen it done plenty of times I'm not convinced it's any better but good job anyway 😁

Never seen it work With a crack through a freeze plug area , because engine blocks can achieve 30-40 psi of block pressure, and a freeze plug forces the block sealing area to spread —- love to see it handle 230 degrees and 35 psi .

I'm with Pete I've even done stitching once but never seen a weld fail even when using mild steel welding wire when done properly

Right at the end of the Crack then gouge it, bevel it, preheat it then use the correct filler metal.

I’ve done this to fix a crack between the valve seats on a hemi head. This method is very reliable if done correctly

the correct way is to drill one then thred . studd drill next hole just so it catches first so on till end
