The manufacturer is buying the whole panel from a supplier. Hopefully someone will make an aftermarket kit to repair.
Just like a door hinge. They buy it ready to go. Parts separately are no garanteed to fit or be the same.

Right to repair laws need to be in every state. This kind of forced up charging because of poor craftsmanship also leads to insurance costs going up because instead of fixing one little piece they now have to replace a larger more costly item.

This is why I will forever hold onto my 2004 Silverado. I’ve taken the door panels off many times and have never broken anything. It’s crazy just how simple everything used to be back in the day.
