People in the comments don't understand the difference between barn cats and house cats. As someone who was once that little girl and cared about every cat in the colony, those scraps are a special treat for them.

Colonies going to double in size even if they spay because “where’s there’s a barn there’s mice” goes through everyone’s head while dumping cats. And it’s the farmers that are left with the responsibility.

Barn cats are fine as long as you get them fixed and take care of them, they have a job to do. Now living in the suburbs or not on a farm and having an “outside” cat is dangerous for the cat and wildlife, these are not native animals and they destroy the ecosystem.

I rescued a barn cat that was blind and deaf and over 15 years old and left out in that barn to rot. Thank you so much for taking care of those babies!
