I lived in a state where renters have virtually no rights. In 2023, my landlord increased my rent by 50% ($1800-$2700). It was either that or paying hundreds to move and secure a new apartment. For me, buying has saved me money because of predatory landlords. Every situation is different and it’s important for one to weigh renting vs buying in their particular circumstances.
