From a NP for 25 years here: because administration has us booking so many patients in a day; and it just takes 1 or 2 to put us far behind, typically because they need that extra time. Not having a tea party or social time as previously suggested.

That's an easy one to answer. It's because most people have no personal integrity and show up whenever the hell they want to. So people with integrity and personal responsibility have to eat it.

Please we are physician’s and we spend extra time with patients that might need a little extra time . Example: the loss of a pregnancy, cancer diagnosis, to order additional testing .. we will give you the same time 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

It’s because other people show up late, and demand to still be seen. It’s a domino affect, one person is late, and it makes the rest of the appts late.

Clearly you know NOTHING about how outpatient medicine works and what doctors do behind closed door. They answer 10 phone calls from patients, their families, hospitals, etc.,. Have your nails done ON TIME INSTEAD. And do not insult your own intelligence.
