Part of me thinks it's because deep down they do understand that even when they've "won," even when they've taken everything they wanted and removed everyone they hated and enriched themselves as much as they can, they are STILL miserable. There is a nothingness inside them that can never, ever be satisfied and can never be filled. Maybe that's the price of such avarice and dehumanization: they've lost what is human inside themselves and no amount of money or killing or capitalist success can replace that lack of self.

after Obama got electect, i was a kid and HOPED things would change. kinda blinded by hope, but them ppl was ANGRY a black man was president. the poison spread. now here we are, poison on full display. in power, wanting to take all of it and some. This isn’t a democracy, it is not a republic, it’s is a capitalistic democracy, two ideologies diametrically opposed to each other. That’s why we’ve struggled, because we thought it was just a democracy, this is a capitalistic prison system that we are finally seeing for the first time.

White oleander the movie really heavily effected me when I was younger. And I am really struggling with the pearl clutching too. Like how could we be surprised by anything these people do at this point. We’re supposed to be focusing on important things. We need to remember the poison is poison and leave it there. Expect it to act like poison and stop trying to turn into anything else, accept that it’s poison. Don’t take part in it. Move onto what we are doing to get rid of the poison.

It is as it was sadly. White men with power instinctively have this need to dominate, subjugate and pillage. Nurture and love is not in their DNA. ICE is the new overseers. Gave them money and a gun. I believe that the people have become more educated through social media and are fighting back more than before. The veil is lifted and lies are so apparent. I know we have a long road ahead of us but I need to believe we will win in the end. There are more of us and less of them. 🙏🙏🙏
