Allah Is Not Far — We Are the Ones Who Have Drawn Away — Maulana Ishaq Madani A companion once complained to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about poverty and hardship. The Prophet ﷺ advised him to recite a supplication after Fajr. After some time, he returned and said that Allah had blessed him with prosperity and abundance. The lesson is simple: remain steadfast in the remembrance of Allah. Allah is not far from us; rather, we are the ones who distance ourselves from Him. Supplication: لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ الْعَلِيِّ الْعَظِيمِ تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى الْحَيِّ الَّذِي لَا يَمُوتُ، وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي لَمْ يَتَّخِذْ صَاحِبَةً وَلَا وَلَدًا، وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ شَرِيكٌ فِي الْمُلْكِ، وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ وَلِيٌّ مِنَ الذُّلِّ، وَكَبِّرْهُ تَكْبِيرًا۔ Qur’an References: 17:111 | 72:3 Reference Note: The specific story and the complete supplication are attributed in the speech to the Prophet ﷺ; the Qur’anic phrases within the supplication are found in Surah Al-Isra (17:111) and Surah Al-Jinn (72:3).
