Heat and inflammation cause hyper pigmentation. I don’t know why that’s not being talked about more.

Pico laser got rid of my hormonal melasma not a Dr obvs so maybe the wrong thing for you, idk. I would try to find a doc that has lots of darker patients they’re better with pigmentation issues in my experience.

try to find someone who offers the enlighten rx peel. its similar to cosmelan but better. works great for melasma. also check vitamin d levels. I'm going to assume your low. melasma patients need vitamin D! check hormones too. could be staying due to imbalance. melasma can be systemically internal. hope that helps

You need a 1927 wavelength laser. Moxi is great or Fraxel restore dual but only the 1927. Have melasma myself and treat pts with that and chemical peels too.

I’ve had good success with Moxi and melasma! Especially with continuing some of the things you’ve been doing with your derm

You can’t use anything with heat when you have melasma or a history of it. You should do a few medium depth chemical peels and then after use some prescription hydroquinone and or Tret. Go to a dermatologist
