Norwegian purling is a game changer. I hated to purl continental and I also hate to knit through the back loop, so every time I had to purl or do the ribbing I just switched to English style, now I enjoy it and don’t have to switch style.

No for real, this is how I purl and I didn’t get why people were complaining so much and then I realized they were doing it differently and their way did in fact look kind of annoying.

This is combination continental knitting. As long as you learn to identify which is the leading and trailing leg, you WON’T twist your stitches.

How does this work when you have to increase? Specifically kfb doesn’t wrap correctly. Or can you just interchange kfb with a different kind of increase? I’m very much a beginner haha thanks!

So I tried forever to find tutorials bc when you do this, a lot of patterns don’t work the same if written in western/eastern style. I couldn’t find a perfect match when it was called “continental combination” but I nailed it when looking for eastern/russian knitting. 10rowsaday has great tutorials on YouTube and courses on her site
