the braid aid you are using is that better with the L shape vs the straight ones I've seen. also, do you put anything else on the hair when your are all done braiding?

So when you stitch, are you parting a straight line and then just doing each side going down? For some reason I feel like I watched a tutorial that parted the section down the middle and stitched half on each side (idk if that makes sense)🤦🏽♀️
