This is something that truly stuck out to me watching the redub of the Digimon Movie's second segment. They have no qualms about killing Diaboromon. At all. Tai asks some cursory questions of what Izzy's tried but after? No hesitation. Matt and T.K. don't even do that much when they join the fight. They know this stuff ain't a game.

This is one of the biggest differences between 01 and 02, and even though there's no evidence for it, I think the older kids are at least partly happy the 02 kids didn't have to go through what they did. They were all just kids, after all

01 digidestined had to do alot of sacrifices of their innocence to win the big fights. Kari and the were more or less spared from the most of it. they needed therapy alot. thats why I like tai

si lo pensamos mejor, digimon es bastante crudo, la primera generación de niños elegidos murio en el mundo digital por el bien de ambos mundos, la segunda generación trataba de sobrevivir en un mundo completamente desconocido, y la tercera generación lo veia como un viaje escolar, ya que ellos tenian la libertad de salir y entrar al digimundo, pero eso no quita que todas las generaciones cargan con las muertes de digimons, porque no estaban derrotando digimons, los mataban, solo eran niños, sabian lo que debian hacer, incluso si eso involucrará el sacrificio de algunos por el bien de miles...

to be fair in Season 1 and 2 death for digimon isn't permanent. they do get reborn giving tuem a chance at a better life. now season 3? all those digimon are straight up just dead. that world dosent have a rebirth island.
