Sometimes it just tastes good enough to stick around, and other times it’s so deep in the culture that it’s seen as a rite to eat it. People in the US eat squirrel, possum, turtle, rabbit, and other “odd” meats to some! My great grandma will STILL make dandelion salad and “golden lions” aka deep fried dandelion with a bit of powdered sugar sprinkled on top 🤷🏻‍♀
