You’re doing great!! Quick knife skills tip: pinch the top of the blade with pointer and thumb, then wrap the other fingers around the handle. You wont stress your wrist. We got HAMMERED on that in culinary school

you did awesome! if you are going to have leftovers I highly recommend cooking the noodles separately and just adding them to each bowl of soup. The noodles keep much better that way but there is absolutely nothing wrong with adding the noodles directly to the soup if that's what you want to do.

When the kids are older, take a page out of my mom’s book…we each had a day of the week we were responsible for dinner. The older we got the more we had to do by ourselves. Choosing the meal, grocery list, eventually shopping as well.

Crockpot recipes are a godsend for someone who doesn’t feel comfortable in the kitchen. Just throw everything together and let the crockpot do its thing!

I love this!!! If you want to protect your fingers when cutting fold them under so it's almost like making a fist? But it'll be the blade against the veggie or against your knuckles if you slip! 🥰

I’ve done the same with my oil dispenser countless times 😂 it’s the dispenser, not us.

My Mom was chronically ill with Kidney Disease and was never able to cook, so I never really learned. Up until a couple of months ago my husband did the majority of the cooking, but since I decided to stay at home with the kiddos I’ve been the one cooking and I’m really enjoying it! I’m gaining confidence and LOVE to spend time making a nice meal (not every day, but at least 4 nights a week).

Watch a few videos on how to chop veggies, it will make the process so much faster and safer. Learning the basics will help your new adventure progress ❤️. I learned the basics watching food network while nursing my now 21 year old at the age of 33. I now make everything from scratch. You can do it!

I also have so much anxiety about cooking. And the fact that my husband is so good at cooking… makes me more anxious! Practice does make you better though 😅 I’m just ready for it to not feel so stressful when I’m on dinner duty!

Pro-tip add just a teaspoon maybe a little more of tumeric. ( I don’t really measure 🫣) Doesn’t add any overwhelming flavor but gives the soup a little extra something. And bonus, it turns the soup a beautiful color!
