My chronic tonsillitis still gets ignored it started in 4th grade I’m a senior this year (almost 18) and still get told it’s sinuses and strep (strep comes back negative every time smh) and they refuse to remove my tonsils cause “it’s not necessary “ even though it’s gotten so bad every time my tonsils swell up I can barely breathe or swallow my own saliva

I took my child yesterday to the ED for lower right side abdomen pain. The provider walks in and looks at him and says I think he’s fine he sits down to talk to me and I was wearing my hospital jacket with my name and credentials he coughs and says but mom what would you like me to order for him? I looked at him and said you should have walked in with the intention to find a diagnosis not wait to see that I work in medicine for you to care now.

No because they say nurses are the worst patients but that’s because they advocate for themselves. There’s no reason to have unsafe and lazy care only because you don’t want to be “that person”

Hi Im an ER veterinary technician. i checked in at my local ER for post exposure Rabies vaccines and was told “cats don’t get rabies” …. i beg your finest pardon? i reported that bc anyone else could’ve believed that and chose not to check in. 🤦🏻♀

the amount of times I've had patients tell me I was the only one who listened to their heart/lungs/bowel sounds and asked them orientation question is scary like we just not doing any basic assessments anymore? 😳

“Any hx of seizures?” my mom “yes” *gives me droperidol which i have a major adverse reaction too* head of ER comes in and nurse said “They said no hx of seizures” when I tell you mom almost FLEW off the handle.

Had a nurse almost give me sulfa. Before she injected me I said woah woah woah why are you giving me and she told me. I said does that have sulfa in it and she goes yeah. I said I’m allergic. And she goes oh and shrugs her shoulders and walks away like she could care less that she about made me go into a shock

Oncology nurse here. Went to the ED several weeks ago for a migraine that caused numbness and vision loss. They gave me the migraine cocktail, except when he “put the toradol in”, I watched him just open a new flush and flush my iv. He put the (still capped) vial of toradol in his pocket and left.
