as someone who actually works in HR, not recruitment - this is NOT how you bring it up in most organizations. You should wait until your performance review cycle and ask what merit increases or raises look like at your organization. Give them a chance to respond, then get into it further. But be open, and if you’re not getting what you are looking for - leave. Be prepared to walk away. If you don’t have performance reviews, ASK for one before just booking.

I work in Hr also and specifically deal with compensation and talent acquisition. I negotiate salaries all day but struggle with asking for a raise 😂😂

I tried to set up these meetings at least 5 times over almost two years and he blew me off every time. Underpaid and taken advantage of with high production skills. I’ll know never to let that happen again. I just wish I wasn’t so bitter now. I’ve lost respect for so many people because corporate America is evil.
