Hear me out 👇⁣ as a night owl turned overstimulated toddler mom, I knew something had to change when we were planning for our second baby. ⁣ ⁣ This is when I started working toward the more structured morning routine that’s now in my feed.⁣ ⁣ I could share so much more on this, but here’s some of what I go without to stay consistent:⁣ ⁣ 1. Gym workouts⁣ Transitions kill momentum. What you see as “just driving to the gym”, I see as: getting in the car, driving, parking, checking your surroundings, procrastinating, checking in, going to the change room, setting up your equipment. Kinda like when you have a bunch of tabs open on your computer, it gets too hot, starts running slowly - transitions are like tabs, add too many and you’re gonna crash.⁣ ⁣ 2. Heavy weights⁣ Increasing weight isn’t the only way to make an exercise challenging. Most workouts, I use 2-3 sets of dumbbells then adjust the rep speed, set structure, or exercise mechanics to achieve the difficulty I need. ⁣ ⁣ If you want someone else to do this for you, all my workouts are in the @joinanda app 🤍⁣ ⁣ 3. Breakfast⁣ Because for all the panic there is about fasted training and how that’s gonna stress your body - ⁣ Nobody talks about how circadian rhythm or exercise affect digestion. ⁣ ⁣ Overnight and during moderate or higher intensity exercise, your digestion slows down. ⁣ ⁣ So if you wake up early and eat something heavy - not only will that put unnecessary strain on your body, but you’re gonna feel bloated and sluggish during training. ⁣ ⁣ This is why I have a light snack before training, then my usual breakfast after. ⁣ ⁣ #morningworkout ⁣#morningroutine #toddlermom #postpartum #secondtimemom
