Worse when they are older it’s always these ‘I went through this at your age you’ll learn’ ‘I’ve grown past that’ some are very well spoken and extremely believable you start to put them on a pedestal which they love

I tired telling my grandma I was going to vote and suddenly she said I don’t know what I’m doing and that I’m to you f I’m not I’m old enough to vote and I called her out on it and she got mad and invoked my grandpa

Yep or even when it’s something you do know about like I’m a nurse and he would tell me I didn’t know what I was talking abt or doing like if him or the kids were sick or had a cut. Constant invalidation

My husband does this a lot. Once he started an argument with me bc we were watching a soccer match on TV and I made a comment about how I didn’t think the foul happened in the “penalty box”. He looked at me like I was stupid and said that the area I was referring to was called the “penalty area” not box. I told him that it can also be called box. But he insisted I was wrong and he was right bc he played soccer in highschool, and I didn’t. All in front of our kids. Mind you.. I never played soccer on an organized team like he did, but I am from Europe. I grew up playing soccer with my friends, going to professional matches, and watching it on tv every weekend.
