@thinkingcanine: This video is awful. I want you to known that the little dog survived somehow. Some dogs are unsafe to have in the community. It’s a personal decision to live with and take on the responsibility of having a dog like this. There are many dogs who sit in the shelter for years who are safe dogs. I believe shelters should not adopt out dangerous dogs, which is why it doesn’t pass ethical adoptability criteria. Predatory aggression to dogs may not mean predatory aggression towards people, but I would worry about this dog because it has zero hesitation. All dogs of all breeds should be judged as individuals, and adopting out dogs like this causes further breed stigma. While behavior modification can give the owner more control, and potentially teach this dog to avoid other dogs or be more calm around them, management fails, and results are never guaranteed. We need to stop spreading the idea that all dogs can be rehabilitated. The ugly truth is that some dogs are just naturally aggressive and dangerous and should be put down instead of wasting a bunch of time, money and resources on them.

we are surrounded by lazy owners who have at least one but usually two aggressive dogs and it is stressful to walk my dog since we were attacked once.
