Honest question- is this the reality of play dates nowadays? When my son wants his friends over we just play outside, color in coloring books, or they play in the playroom😅

If you want to do play dough again, to make it cheaper and more fun for the children, make it. All you need is two cups of plain flour, 4-5 tablespoons of cooking oil and paint (I normally eyeball the paint and go off how dry the mixture is). It’s cheaper in the long run as you can get lots of plays and mixes out of the ingredients. The children can mix their own play dough and choose their own colours. I’ve found it easier for them to not destroy it as it’s something they made and they value it more

@Nikki Anderson: This is totally not expected. At least for any friends my kiddos would have. We have so much fun outside with being with friends, maybe some bubbles and sugar. Kids remember the moments, not all the extra playdoh bins. That’s for Mom and that’s okay too.
