I once told my male therapist that I felt like I had failed my partner and he said, “Oh, well that’s because you failed him. You failed him big time. But we all fail. So now what? Are you gunna cry about failing him or you gunna make a plan to avoid doing it again?” I was like… sir. Please. Let me pity myself for one second damn. 🤣😭

I think yall just need better women therapists, my woman therapist did NOT play, she would tell me when I was in the wrong and also just be really frank, she wasn’t uncaring but she was a therapist not a friend

As a male who is studying to be a therapist. After offering feedback to a friend she said “damn I hate when you’re right, but I’ll be back for more advice later.” This feels validating that there is a space for me. 🤞🏾

The last male therapist I had asked me if I said no to the boyfriend who sexually abused me the entirety of our relationship after I explained I didn't realize he had been an abuser until many years later because I had such low self esteem and depression and was self harming that it made me an easy target. Legit asked. "Well, did you tell him no?" in a vaguely familiar condescending tone. That being said I've had plenty of female therapist that I didn't feel a connection with or definitely judged me over the years as well. Therapy in my 39 years on this Earth has always been down to luck.

I got a male therapist partly to have proof that not all men are broken just because they’re men. It’s nice to be reminded regularly that some are actually useful. lol (laughing so i don’t cry! working on this with my therapist and coach tho)

I wanted a woman because of trauma I had growing up. Got a male therapist twice in a row and the connection with them was incredible! So thankful I gave each of them a chance. 🥰

my male therapist, immediately after I told him about my social anxiety: when you're out somewhere, nobody's paying attention to you. they all have their own things that they're paying attention to. and if they are paying attention to you, they're either kidnappers, s** traffickers, or murd*r*rs. 🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦

I’m a firefighter. Work in men groups. I suggest to the men there to stay and talk here where there’s no judgment BUT get a woman therapist. We all need to see a no bullshit other side.
