the first time someone was racist to me was when I was about 15 and a black woman who at the time was a teacher came up to me when I was crying because I had failed a test I needed to do and it really upset me at the time and she said to my face stop crying your white it's not that bad

One thing I’ve noticed abroad is that people don’t actually know who’s American. They think any obnoxious English speaking person is American and the nice ones aren’t, I’ve been mistaken for a Canadian like a dozen times and they always act shocked when I say I’m from America. On the flip side I saw a group of Australians be really loud and disruptive at a restaurant in la costa del sol and the waiters were convinced they were Americans lol.
