@hmforshetland: Somethings not right. Here in Shetland we have one of the largest onshore wind-farms in Europe yet one of the highest rates of fuel poverty in Europe. Energy should be a public good. Norway knows this and many Nordic countries take the same approach. Currently all of Scotland and Shetland’s energy is controlled by the UK government that priorities corporate profit over community and equity every time. Something is not right. More importantly, something needs to change. As always, if you want to get involved with the campaign or if you have any local issues you’d like to discuss, we would love to hear from you so please do not hesitate to get in touch. #seatatthetable #snp #shetland
Westminster do NOT give 2 hoots what happens to energy prices especially in Scotland as they are benifiting from it as a lot of them have vested interests in the energy sector.

You make some interesting points about energy costs but I am not sure I agree with you regarding Scottish energy and zonal prices. You can’t punish the south east of England for not producing energy. After all they produce most gdp from finance which pays the country’s bills. Surely we need more nuclear energy to offset gas prices rising due to the Ukrainian war . Successive governments have failed to plan our energy policy and failed to build enough capacity.

It’s businesses that have made the investment. Not Scotland.

sadly Westminster uses Scotland's natural resources to supply London and other parts of England first then sends it back to us and we pay for the pleasure.

You should watch the recent parliamentary committee session with energy companies. It explains that our bills contain a £20bn stealth tax that is being used to achieve nett zero. That’s the only reason we are paying so much compared to other countries
