Here are my tips as someone who’s worn U-part wigs for the past 10 years due to alopecia. First off, the amount of hair you sectioned out was pretty much perfect — you don’t want to section out too much, otherwise you’ll end up with those weird bumps around the track line. You could sew clips into the wig, or you could just braid your hair and sew the wig into your braids instead. Clips are great, but they can be damaging long-term, so if you’re planning to wear it for a few days, I’d just sew it in. You can also use braiding hair to mix in with your own if it’s thin — it makes the base stronger and helps the wig sit better. As for colour, it’s really not that deep. Most natural hair colours are darker at the roots anyway, so it ends up looking pretty natural regardless. One last thing — I’d definitely recommend sewing an elastic band at the nape of the wig. It gives the cap more structure and keeps it from feeling loose or flapping around. Some people prefer to pin it down, but I’ve found the elastic pulls out the least amount of hair.

Girlie, trust me when I say I’m a pro. Sew extension clips all along the u part and on the front and then use eyeshadow to blend the edge and cover scalp on the sides so you can’t see the part line
