@camilleviviana_: what irks me about politics, wars, etc. is that a few people consolidate power, get into it with each other and decide their agenda is what rules above all else. And it’s the normal working people who suffer. I grew up in a community supported heavily by SNAP benefits, and they were a NEED not a want. Families who lived on less than paycheck to paycheck and who needed those benefits to keep food on the table especially for their children. This government shutdown hurts regular working people and they want to make it as painful as possible so they can place blame where it doesn’t belong. The only reason Dems are holding on in this fight, is to try and keep protect Medicaid and keep healthcare costs from rising for millions of Americans. Negotiations have been going … well they’re not going. Republicans are mainly trying to wait it out until the dems are in so much pain that they concede. Dems hope they can make a deal instead.
