@almondsoon: Had the best seat in the house for this! This is the "Danza del Fuego" (Dance of Fire), a spectacular Aztec performance I witnessed in Mexico City. It's a sacred ritual honoring Xiuhtecuhtli, the Aztec god of fire. The dance evokes the "Fuego Nuevo" (New Fire Ceremony), which was performed every 52 years to renew the world and ensure the sun would rise again. So powerful to see this ancient history come alive.
