There’s a hidden network of AI-powered surveillance cameras rapidly expanding into communities across America. Flock, a multi-billion-dollar company, sells AI-powered license-plate readers now used by police departments nationwide to make it easier to track people down. But communities across the country are raising the alarm about the violation of privacy—and the fact that the AI has misread plates, leading police to accuse and even brutalize the wrong person. According to the online tracker DeFlock, there are now over 106,000 Flock AI cameras on streets across the U.S. This video shows just how much they’ve spread in just two years.
