Reminds me of a story my teacher told me (USA) when she was studying abroad in Edinburgh and working in a Starbucks. She spilled coffee on what we here in the states refer to as pants👖 …you guys call smth else "pants" though, and her coworkers were horrified that she was telling them she stained her pants 😭

Oh my. USA here and we actually use it three different ways and context use is essential. Could be a wicked taxi trip thru NYC, it could be said at the climax of a fast moving situation or the more private term to infer a situation you would only say to your friends. Context IS everything.

Ha! Oh my. That's funny! I've used it for any kind of out of the ordinary craziness. I could definitely see myself making the same mistakes. Although the ride of the horizontal dance I have also heard and used!

Yes, actually. When I was a kid I moved to Guatemala, learned their vocabulary and slang, so when we're preparing to visit Peru for the holidays my parents sit us down for the "list of Guatemalan words inappropriate for Peru" 🤣 like "chucho" means dog, and like any Spanish word they have a female version that ends with "a" instead of "o", problem is, that's used for the female reproductive in Perú... SOOOOOOOOO my parents were like "don't EVER use that word" 🤣 worst part of that, there's a VERY common expression "a la gran chuch-" 🤣 which means something along the lines of "holy cow!" BUT to a Peruvian person could easily mean "the greatest v-" 🤣🤣🤣 sooooooooo again... no. But, as a kid, how can you avoid saying stuff you CONSTANTLY say? 🤣🤣🤣
