A woman's cry is more elegant and soft on the shamisen. Reminding me of the cult of beauty in the Heian period, in which lots of poetry and writing from women was more melancholy and sad.

I like the contrast between how they're portrayed when angry. The woman's anger is more softer and graceful, but it lingers on as the melody is short. The man however is more louder and longer, giving a lasting impression. Very nice
